Archbishop Piero Pioppo was born at Savona, Northern Italy, on 29 September 1960.
He was ordained priest in Catholic Church, incardinated to the Diocese of Acqui Terme, Italy, on 29 June 1985.
He obtained his Doctorate Degree in Dogmatic Theology.
He was assumed in diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 1993 and has served in the following countries: Korea, Chile, and the Secretariat State of the Holy See.
He was appointed Prelate of the Institute for Religious Works on 7 July 2006.
He was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and to Equatorial Guinea on 25 January 2010.
He was ordained Bishop on 18 March 2010.
He speaks Italian, English, French, and Spanish.
He was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia on 8 September 2017.
